On 24th Thursday November one the renowned journalists in Sierra Leone, Thomas Josephus Dixon posted on Face Book page which reads as ” Hon. Abdul Kargbo has apologized to the people of Sierra Leone particularly the Deputy Minister of Justice, Umaru Napoleon Koroma for the Un-Parliamentary Act of MPs “.

Responding to the above post, Secretary General of the Interim Transitional Governance Committee of the All-Peopleā€™s Congress (APC), Hon. Abdul Kargbo on behalf of Members of Parliament tendered his apology via 98.1 Good Morning Salone program to the people of Sierra Leone and the Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice. He went on that such a chaos shouldn’t have happened if there was a negotiation from the Speaker of Parliament, adding that critical laws have been passed as a result of negotiations.

It could be recalled that on Wednesday 23rd November, 2022, fracas erupted between Members of Parliament from mainly the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party and main opposition All People’s Congress parties. According to confirmed sources, this unfortunate brawl has to do with a proposed change to the electoral system to allow for proportional representation in next year’s general elections.

The fight erupted around 11:00GMT and had quieted down by afternoon. According to local reports, the police intervened to calm down the riotous scene and expel disruptive MPs from the chamber.
